Day 3 - John the Baptist
John the Baptist - a prayer
Living God,
in this time of Advent, we give thanks for John,
who came as a voice crying in the wilderness,
calling the people to radical change.
By his strong words and powerful actions,
through his preaching and baptising
he embodied Isaiah’s dream,
and built a way for people to come home to You.
Today we pray,
that where there are mountains to be moved
and valleys to be crossed,
where the road is rough, with many confusing turns:
You will show us how to turn for home.
Lead us back from exile
and make us ready to meet You
as You come to meet us in Jesus,
so that we may discover Your dream for our lives
and for the life of our world,
Through Jesus Christ our Lord
AMEN
